On 4th March 2021, Sir Michael Synder proposed a motion to the Court of Common Council to establish the City of London Covid Business Recovery Fund strongly supported by Ward colleagues Sir Roger Gifford, Alex Barr, and Tracey Graham. The Motion passed unanimously.
The Scheme which is for independent retail and hospitality businesses, and services such as opticians and dentists is being worked on (at speed) and it is hoped that the scheme will be launched around the 8th/9th April 2021 following the Policy and Resources Committee meeting. The Ward team will communicate when the Scheme is ready for applications which we are hoping will be on line and have a ‘hard copy’ alternative. It will however require full disclosure of financial circumstances and viability for the future as well as a professional review.
