Following on from Wardmote held in March, the elected members on the City of London Council for the Ward of Cordwainer invite businesses in the Ward to join them for a discussion on current local and City issues in the cafe in St Mary Aldermary Church, Bow Lane from 8:30 to 9:30 on 17 May.
It is a year since electors in the Ward elected Sir Michael Snyder, Sir Mark Boleat and Alex Barr to represent the Ward on the Court of Common Council of the City of London Corporation. The elected members, together with the Alderman, Sir Roger Gifford, are keen to hear further from local businesses about the key issues that affect them. The team is acutely aware that business rates and rents remain a big concern, alongside other matters such as waste collection or traffic, in addition to more national points such as Brexit.
The event will be very informal. Coffee, croissants and bacon rolls will be available from 8:15, the elected members will give a short introduction and then we will have an open and interactive discussion. We will finish not later than 9:30 but people are welcome to come and go as they please. Following the breakfast the elected members will be visiting as many catering establishments in the Ward as possible.
